BANDITCh. Cleopatra’s Black MagicMy first show dog from my first breeding. He finished with a five point major and Best of Variety from the classes. But the highlight for me was Bandit winning a Best In Match at nine months with me handling. I still have that rosette.
NICKYCh. Wendadam’s White KnickersNicky is the only male dog I have ever purchased. He came to me from Barbara and George Adkins in Texas and is behind all of the dogs in the Abbey Lane pedigrees. I keep waiting for another Nick.
CARYCh. Abbey Lane's Bit O'BlarneyCary was from Cleo’s second and last litter. He had incredible coat texture. It never matted and he could be kept in full coat with little upkeep. That made it easy to show him as a veteran where he won Best of Variety at the Southern California Cocker Club show and retired a trophy previously won by Bandit and Nicky.
TEDDYCh. Abbey Lane's Ruff RiderThis is the red and white dog on the opening page of this website. Teddy was the sweetest boy I have ever bred. He had the dark red and white coloring that we don’t see as much today.
WILLIECh. Abbey Lane's Steamboat WillieMy first big win at the ASC Summer National was with Willie in Orlando. He was BOV Parti Futurity in a huge class. Willie was another sweet boy who preferred staying at home so was retired from the ring while still a young dog.
BENNYCh. Abbey Lane's King Of SwingBenny made a great showing in the ASC Veteran Sweepstakes ring with his owner, Alicia Shearhart. Benny was third to his brother, Willie, in the ASC Futurity in Orlando. That was quite a thrill to have 2 of the four placements in 6-9 Parti Dogs. Benny was acquired later in his life by Donna Harrington of Dal-Mar who did a beautiful job bringing him into condition and seeing his potential as a stud dog. Alicia and Donna partnered on giving Benny a wonderful life. He is truly missed by many.
CHARLIEAbbey Lane's Little TrampThe Willie/Benny brother who did not go to Orlando in the Futurity. Resources did not allow a third dog to go. Charlie reached 10 points toward his championship, but didn’t enjoy it as much as his brothers. Since Willie, Benny, Teddy, and Minnie were all out showing, I decided that Charlie could stay home which is where he stayed with me.
JESSECh. Quasar's Badd BoyOne of five in his litter to finish, Jesse was the only show boy in the litter so he got a lot of attention. He usually ended up going Best of Opposite Sex to his very pretty sister, Heddy.
TUCKERCh. Wendadam's White TuxedoTucker was a beautiful puppy that showed a lot of promise. More of the dark red and white pigment I love. He won his Futurity class at American Spaniel Club and quickly finished his championship.
